Earn before Durga Puja: free training for women

For 20 years the Samannay Vocational Training Institute in Sonarpur has been a source of hope for women and disadvantaged communities, helping them become self-reliant through skills training.

Ahead of Durga Puja, Samannay brought a new earning opportunity: women and disadvantaged people can make and sell handmade crafts, clothes and festive goods, and earn before the festival, bringing more joy to their families. Those who already know sewing can start work straight away.

Through this initiative the institute continues its mission of economic self-reliance and of making a positive difference in people’s lives.
